Forum: feature_films Subject: public domain films ?

I understand that these feature films are in the public domain. I'm just curious to know what is the source of these films ? Are they from a Public domain library or just ripped from a dvd ?
If from a DVD thay may infact be copyright, isn't that correct ?

Also it would be great to see some public domain tv series like the "Beverley Hill Billies", etc, and maybe some public domain animations like "Buggs Bunny", etc.

Anyway, this archive is a great job well done. Hope to see more films added in the future.

These films mostly come from a collection of feature films owned by Churchman Television Services. Charlie Churchman transferred the films to one-inch and Beta SP video tape. We hope to have 600 films online from his collection.

Hi everyone:

It'd also be great to see similar collections online as well. I know of places like LikeTelevision.com but they are a pay site. Why pay for something you might eventually be able to get for free?

Plus, there are also OTR collectors who have expanded their reach to include old TV shows and classic movies. :-)

I'd LOVE to get my hands on the Godzilla & King Kong movies. Hollywood can't remake THOSE movies very well today (Remember how THE INCREDIBLE HULK turned out?).

Cheers for now :)
